My brain, that is. Yes, you are absolutely correct, Frank, the plate in the 654 book is indeed dated October 1944, zo zimm wouldn't apply.

Do you know if the oak leaf symbol was seen on these 654 command tanks? Better still, have you seen any photos of these particular beasts which would confirm or otherwise that the camm pattern is not just artistic license?

The panther G I mistakenly referred to above as being on fire was, now that I think about it, an A model.
