Non Standard Item

Response to Help ID WWII German winter parka, please?

This type of sheepskin coat was a non-standard item as was the cap with sheepskin flaps. The origins of both are difficult to narrow down and would best be described as privately acquired. This was usually the prerogative of
commissioned officers (as this figure is meant to be). As there is nothing special about the color; it is meant to represent natural sheepskin shades. I suspect a Google search of "sheepskin garments" would lead you to better color information.

If I had had more knowledge at the time this figure was designed, I may well have approached it differently.

Cheers,
Ron V
