You can sit and pick holes in any color photo. Particularly when the colors don't match up with perceived wisdom. The little inconsistencies are added confirmation that this is a color snap. Check out the rags on the ground. As for the building, it's in shadow and, anyway, do you expect it to be in glorious technicolor ?

Color film was used far more often than has been thought. Sadly, no heavy armour, but check out pixpast.com and the farbdias that appear on ebay. And they're the tip of the iceberg. I hate to think how much has been destroyed but gems like this do appear and it's sad that we've become so suspicious of wonderful pix like this.
