Hi All,
as far as I know this book is flat out crap,and I must add that I've had contacts with Mr. Simpson way back when he was still writing this book!At that time he had a company thru which he did sell WW2 AFV drawings (I won't indulge in comments on their quality!)and I contacted him for this reason,after a brief exchange of letters in which he told me he was looking for references on the bunkers with Panther turrets built on the Italian theater of operations and asked for my help he started behaving in a strange way....he started asking me question about kits by Pocher and asked me if I could have sent him literally a boatload of various kits(not only Pocher's,but also from Italian/European manufacturers!) and that he'd have payed for them upon their arrival..........providing that they were like he espected them to be!
My two cents on the guy!

It is similar to old spaghetti western novels my grandfather had- the spelling and grammer are so bad it seriously deters from the book's readability. I am surprised the publisher printed it. I cannot comment on whether it is factual or not, but it is in such detail in terms of the action, one can only assume it is mainly a work of fiction. The writer actually inserts the word "bang" when the tank fires it's main armament. I will happily sell you my copy- it is like brand new.

When describing the bang of the gun, does he mention that it was distinctive and sounded different to other guns? Just curious how much research the guy's done.
What is poignant is one poster's note that he knew Simpson and that this was his life's work, although all who knew him thought it was just a fantasy. He died shortly after it was published, penniless and destitute on the streets of Boise ID.

One phrase that stuck in my mind was: "he shared the same sediment", instead of the same sentiment - unbelievable! I borrowed this book from the library, & was constantly astounded that such poor writing could ever be published. Was it ever edited?
