A lot information about combat use T-34 "DR" i find in russian book
1) Were they integrated within existing panzer platoons, or gathered together in separate platoons to act independently? The latter seems more likely to me, but I'm only surmising that.
Germans T-34 from "Das Reich" come to the 3 Pz.Jg.Abt. and fight mainly in rear echelon. But sometime in first line, together with "Tigers" from 8 Ko.
2) Were they equipped with radios before being pressed into action?
All t-34 from "DR" was totally disassembled, rapaired on the repair tank plant, tank parts was tested, and tanks again assembled with new radios, optics, commander cupolas and another modifications.
3) Even if they were equipped with radios, did they attempt to circumvent the problem of the tank commander being forced to perform a gunner's duties, perhaps by only employing these tanks in limited tasks such as in an over-watch function?
As far i know this problem germans can't resolve.
Excuse my bad english. later i try give more information.
Some information from my site
And one question, do You meet some information about germans T-34 in the book Nipe's "Blood, Steel and Myth"?
With best wishes, Vasily.
