Eyes are afraid, but hands are doing the job.

Alan requires too much work to make OK model out of it.

Bronco has definately taken the lead in all round winner as far as manufacturers go, bravo. I will be picking up one of each of these once my budget lets me.

YES, plus a new Jeep too!

This looks like the Jeep kit that Dragon could/should have released: a trailer, covered windshield, rifle in scabbard, stowage, and maybe some troops/crew. Looks good!

Great pictures & reference but......

August 13 2012, 4:41 PM

Sadly no pictures in detail or close up of the interior behind the gun, in front of gun shield, or how the hull in that area or the interior changed from the tank it was based on. I think I saw one view looking through a hatch that was used as reference for a recent build of the Alan kit.

If anybody knows of any others please post.

Thanks

Alan

No hatch

August 13 2012, 7:54 PM

There is no hatch nor a roof on the Marder II D. The Alan model is pure speculation and he did have the photo looking at it from behind into the gun area because I sent it to him in his preparation of that model.

Thank you Frederik. Just broght the Alan kit last month - d'oh!!

August 14 2012, 8:40 AM

Hi Frederik

Thank you for the clarification. I did mean opening, but perhaps badly described it by saying "hatch". The build I saw was by a chap called Tony under the name "Pvt Mutt" on many forums. It was a very nice example.

Ironic, and it always seems to be the way, I've just brought the old Alan kit, Modelkasten tracks and wheels and was planning to buy the Eduard Photoetch and maybe the K35 resin turret upgrade to try to bring it up to the same level as Tony's. He cut away the hull top and did some scratch work which I was going to use as reference.

May stubbornly go ahead with this project or just bite the bullet and get the Bronco kit. Put the rest away and down to experience.

If I went ahead in detailing up the old Alan kit Frederik is there anywhere you know of books, images etc. I can source for the interior detail you speak of apart from the Nuts and Bolts book ?

regards

Alan

Given the lack of IID documentation, will the Bronco version be any more accurate? nt

Nuts & Bolts 24

August 14 2012, 3:09 AM

on Page 122 there is a very rare photo looking into the right front of the fighting compartment with many details. I havent`t seen it at the reference link.
But some will always remain speculative about this vehicle.

Will be interesting to see how they interpret the interior of the 233 given that there are virtually no photos of the stowage, etc.
