Sherman tanks in use by s.Pz.Abt 508

Guys,

Would anyone know how many Sherman tanks were captured by s.Pz.Abt 508 and how many were used as recovery tanks by the Abteilung in 1944.

I cannot remember the source, but I read that sPzAbt 508.....

captured 22 Shermans from an American unit it engaged (the inexperienced crews abandoned the tanks), stripped them of all usable stuff (food, etc.) and used some of them as tractors. They had to destroy a number of the Shermans because they didn't have the crews to man all of them. The Germans liked the Sherman's mechanical reliability and considered it an excellent support vehicle and tractor.
