The isp does appear to make a difference in registering...

Response to Compulsory Registration on Discussion Groups

as I too had a problem with registering. I've had a "notworking54" account for awhile so when I tried to register with ML this morning from home, I never received an email validating my ML account. However, I just tried it again at work and PRESTO!! I had the validation email in less than two minutes. I didn't change my user i.d. or email address, just the place I logged in from. And, I do have cookies active on both computers.

I do hope that this doesn't screw things up for other people.
