M 40 is driving me nuts

Hi,all,
So I've lengthened my AFV-Club kit's gun tube, raised the gun base and lowered the floor around it according to Toadman's pictures. And now I'm looking for a photo that shows the lids of the lateral stowage boxes (parts E 3,4) with their hinges E6 on the outsides of the vehicle, as the kit demands. At least the sample at APG has them on the inside, see pics e.g. at prime portal. Besides: what are the fixtures on the tops of these lids for (E 10)?
While I have your attention: Were the braces for the folding platform (B 31) a standard feature or just an addition to a single museum piece? If standard, how were they stowed on the move?
Also: It seems that the rear hull lifting eyes (A 48) were in slightly different positions on M 40 and M 43, apparently because the M 43 had gun travel braces that were fixed next to them (again, see Toadman). On the other hand, I have an illustration from the TM for the towed version of the 155 mm gun that shows an M 40 with just this set of braces. Was that a prototype, or did the welder of A 48 determine what gun the respective hull would receive?
Lastly (for today): Is there a PE set for the M 40, and if so, who makes it?

I know that this is AMS and just hope for you all that it isn't contagious!
Thanks in advance,
Peter
