I exaggerated when I said Robert's book was a "novel". Clearly that offended you, as you have used capital letters. Appologies for that. Whatever you want to call it, it is someone's personal recollections based on events recalled 20 years after the event. These are not always correct, which was the meaning I was trying to get across.
Regardless of who painted the tanks and their colours, the photo I posted clearly shows that 4th Hussars were in dark colours whereas 3RTR were in light colours. Light colours are used in the desert, dark colours in temperate terrain. If 3RTR were repainted, then why are they in light colours.
So far, neither you nor Ken has been able to adequately explain why 5RTR in the same pattern and (more than likely the same colours) appear in Egypt painted this way. Surely if they went to all the trouble of repainting 3RTR for Greece, then they would have repainted 5RTR for Egypt as well, instead of leaving them in the colours for Sudan.
