The headlight guards are symmetrical.
Late Dodge headlight guards are asymmetrical because one side has a blackout driving light.

The above WC-52 has the symmetrical early headlight guards. And yes I realize the caption says it is a 1945. Someone installed earlier parts on it, all too common with restorations, and why restorations should not be considered authoritative without confirmation.

This WC-51 has the briefly used transitional headlight guard. Note the bottom of the front bed is flush with the bottom of the running board, showing this is the earlier bed. This guard type is not seen (as factory installed) on the later bed which is well above the running board.

This is the later asymmetrical guard. Note that there is a bar across the face of the headlight on the asymmetrical guard.
