Response to From Don Allens site

The Russian script in various places suggests that this was recovered from somewhere East. Is this the case?

There are several interesting details on this Valentine, for example evidence that it had the boxes on the turret for spare Bren magazines. Much more besides.

One thing puzzled me. I looks to me as if there is a join line between the bow plate and the rest of the nose casting. I presume that this is in reality a join between parts of the mould, and that the whole nose was cast in one piece......

The bullet deflector strips almost look as if they are cast into the nose. Were they? Or were they added later?
