When did Austin 'tilly' enter British army service?

Dear Colleagues

All my photos of the Tilly seem to be from 1942 onwards. Does anybody know if the Tamiya canvas tilt version entered service earlier? Did it serve with the BEF for example?

I would like to put it in a 1941 UK diorama but perhaps they weren't around then?

Thanks for any advice/suggestions?

Andrew
