I was doing my research into my new USMC M4A2 Sherman project and came acrossa question for all you Sherman knowledgable folk. Was "Apache" a USMC M4A2 mid production Sherman equiped with the E4R2-5R1 flame thrower in the hull mg postion? Also does anyone have a reference picture of this device mounted? What was the diameter of the tube and how far did it portrud from the ball? I saw it in Dave Harpers book
and it seems to be equiped with the flame thrower and also has a Bugs Bunny stencil on it. Were the applique plates added to the hull sides put on by the Tank Battalions mant. group? How thick were these plates?
Thanks in advance to all
