Response to Iwo Sherman

Joe,are you refering to David Harpers book ,Tank Warefare on Iwo Jima, published by Squadron Signal? If so on page 38 is a picture of a 3rd Tank battalion tank with the mount clearly visible. This is part of the report after action section that states that the 3rd battalion were not very impressed with this flamethrower and would have preferred the turret mounted type. There is a color profile of Apache on page 17 stating that it did have the flamethrower. There are also three color photos of Apache on the same page along with markings info.I am sorry I do not have any size data on the flame gun.For others interested in the above book it is listed as availiable on Squadrons web site for $4.99.
