Sherman turret query

Re: the low bustle 75mm turret, without the pistol port.

Was this configuration ONLY seen with cast-in cheek armor on the gunner's side?

Or could these features be seen independent of each other?

Or, did the turrets without the pistol port have the cast-in cheel armor at all?

I have the original Tasca Vc Firefly kit, but am going to model "Carole" w/ Archer dry transfers. It had no pistol port, so I have suitably modofied the kit part. However, it is difficult to tell from photos if it also had cast-in cheek armor. Any thoughts?
