M36 Ammo Racks

The Academy M36 kit shows the 90mm shells stowed inside their fiberboard tubes in the stowage racks over the sponsons.

Postwar pics show bare 90mm shells being stowed.

Were the racks modified for this? How accurate are the kit racks?
