Guys
Check out this shot of an M-18 Hellcat in Italy.

I had not seen it, thought maybe it might interest some of you.

Some question

May 2 2002, 8:41 PM

What are the color and the background of the number "3-1".

The background looks brighter than the tank body which is OD, I think.

Thanks in advance,
Aripin

Hello Steve,

We just got an M18 from Croatia to restore for the Sloan museum in Flint Michigan this week. We are trying to track down it's history. It is tough with just a hull number but once we get a registration number to go with it we will be looking at all those old Hell Cat photos to see if one is the one we have.
We just got it started last night, what an awesome experience. We had spark and gas but nothing would happen. We appearently did not have enough gas getting through but when we did she lit up like a rocket, what an experience without mufflers. Lots of flame and lots of volume!

Here are a few shots of it.

Thanks again Steve.

Barry

Hello Charby,

I was amazed at how much of the original equipment was still in the machine. We need a gauge panel, aux generator, a .50cal of course and a pair of mufflers. Most of the other stuff can be restored.
I was afraid that the light guards or stowage racks would have been cut off and replaced or that the engine would have been traded for some Russian piece.

Thanks Charby, I will keep you up on her progress.

Barry
