Has anybody tried to match the etched brass to the instructions yet?

I have tried to cross reference as below but there are still a number of "unknowns" which are not shown in the instructions.

Any filling in of gaps or corrections to this list would be to the collective good as I guess a lot of people are waiting for this beauty..........

Bronco HSC Etched brass

P1 seat back
P2 unknown
P3 part of flap mechanism
P4 shovel bracket
P5 unknown
P6 unknown
P7 unknown
P8 part of flap mechanism
P9 part of flap mechanism
P10 fire extinguisher bracket - ? Should there be 2 ?
P11 part of flap mechanism
P12 unknown - hold down plate for mattock head?
P13 part of PLM mount
P14 part of flap mechanism
P15 interior storage - bracket
P16 part of flimsy frame
P17 part of flimsy frame
P18 unknown
P19 unknown
P20 unknown
P21 door stop
P22 part of flap mechanism
P23 unknown
P24 hold down straps
P25 part of flap mechanism
P26 unknown
P27 lower bracket - mattock handle
P28 flimsy handles
P29 unknown
P30 mattock head hold down screw
P31 part of flap mechanism
P32 unknown
P33 engine bracket
P34 radio cage
P35 not clear - ? either mudflap or part of flimsy bracket?
P36 radio cage

Might also be worthwhile noting that some of the EB items are incorrectly numbered in the instructions. This is definitely a case where careful study prior to the start of contruction will pay dividends

Am I complaining about things - NO - just drawing this to your attention and trying to find where some of the "unknown" parts go!

Humber etched brass

June 23 2007, 5:50 PM

Simon,
Cannot help 100%, but I think most of the smaller parts are to do with the flap hinges.
I think some of the following parts are as follows.

Part 20 is the end stop that fits on the hull side to the "front" of the aerial rod case, situated above the rear wing.

There is only one fire extinguisher, the circled scrap view is wrong. It normally sits on the rear wing as shown.

Part 35, there seem to be two, and I think these are the metal sguares that fit on the rear of the jerry-can holders, a lot of vehicles had the AoS and Div sign painted on thin metal plates that were then attached to the rear of the holders.

I cannot work out 32,29,23,19,18 or 12. (yet).

HTH
George

Hmmmm....

June 25 2007, 12:43 PM

Having recently received the kit I was curious about some of the PE parts. So I emailed Bronco direct listing the "unknown" parts that Simon had listed and asking their use / location.
I received a reply today and roughly translated it said:-

"FYI the reason the parts are not shown on the instructions is that they are for the next new Humber SC"

Interesting?

Cheers
Kevin

Very interesting

I wonder if this would be the Mark II, which had no P.L.M. Mounting, since it was necessary to delete this, the roof, and other items to counterbalance the increase in the weight of the additional belly armour? Other possible Humbers are the Light Recce Car or the Armoured Cars, Marks I to IV.
