My Tasca Jumbo arrived in the mail this last Saturday and I finally got around to starting it on Tuesday. Let me tell ya, this kit is great!

I'm just about done with the chassis, upper hull and suspension and there isn't a fit issue to be seen, tHe detail is great and the kit goes together smoothly. If I had to find any fault, it would be the foam inserts used in the suspension.

THis is my second Tasca Sherman and I gotta say, I'm hooked.

If the foam inserts don't work right

get the Formations fillers. No hassle for a few bucks. Either that or cut some from plastic card.

Foam inserts

They're okay, I just don't like them. CUtting them to size isn't much of a hassle or difficult. Placing them in the bogie trucks and having them stay in place while you put the rest of the pieces together was another matter.

I used plastic card for the Jumbo...

by using varying thicknesses of plastic card, I was able to get a pretty realistic 'stressed' appearence to the suspension units with the front bogie springs heavily compressed and the other bogies less so.

It was quick and simple and in fact I used scrap plastic bits. I may use this technique in the future to lend some life to the Tasca suspension.

Concur 100%

On my first Tasca VVS, I used the inserts. Later I used styrene tabs. Regardless, I superglued the arms in place.

The Tasca VVS was wonderful when I needed to replicated the compressed arms of a dozer Sherman I modelled.
