... as Tamiya is experienced in French armour (Char B bis, UE carrier) and as Mr. Tamiya-San sen. has examined one left original in Finland lately AND as there is proof that the German Wehrmacht made use of it too - so the kit would surely sell!
Oh yes, I'd be glad to build one - or two, as it's SO TINY-A-TANK!
Let's wait and see,
Richard

i can't believe that none of the 'majors' have released an FT-17 yet... especially as it is such a landmark in tank development. Tamiya are definitely the ones to do it.

For me but FT 17 would be Great too. I will be happy either way. A good Stuart M3 or M3A1 still tops my list though.
Karl.

FT-17... long awaited

February 4 2012, 8:54 PM

Since Tamiya released the French B1 bis its been clear they have the "right stuff" to produce excellent WWI type armored vehicles. With the subsiquent picture of Mr. T pointing to a surviving FT (in Finland I believe) the hope of seeing a state of the art kit seemed reasonable.

I for one would pick up several. As for the manufacturer, there are at least half a dozen kit offerings possible from one hull/suspension...

1. Char Canon - 37mm gun
2. Char mitrailleuse - Hotchkiss MG
3. FT 75 BS - 75mm howitzer
4. TSF - command/radio version
5. FT-Ko - Japanese import used in Manchuria
6. U.S. 6 Ton - American made version
7. Upgraded versions used during WWII

about time the 'majors' did some WW1 tanks

February 5 2012, 4:40 AM

at least the important ones like the Brit Mk.I, Mk.IV, German A7V and French FT-17 of course; can't believe there are still only the old Emhar/Tauro kits in plastic (and some expensive resin ones) and they have been neglected so long by Tamiya/Dragon etc

as we have seen some pre-/inter-war tanks recently and announced for this year, hopefully the big manufacturers are working backwards through tank history happy.gif
