Yes.

Small hatch w/cast in hull applique armor. It looks like it has a high bustle turret with loader's hatch as well.

May 15 2012, 12:24 PM

getting the hang of this wink.gif

so i thought the small hatch/cast applique was very rare and that most of them where converted to DD?
does anyone make a kit of the small hatch/cast applique m4a1?

also should it be called applique if it was not really "applied" happy.gif

Thanks Roy!

Formations used to make a resin conversion, but this is not currently listed at the site.

That one would do

May 15 2012, 3:50 PM

though it does not list for what plastic kit it's intended.
So you might need to tinker and tweak a little bit when fitting it together.

A minimal effort conversion

May 15 2012, 5:13 PM

This looks to be the Tasca hull with three plates glued on and blended in. If you already have an M4A1 kit, you could easily do it yourself. There are dimensions on Tim Streeter's site (I think) or you could put them in the same locations as the M4A1 applique in my MilMod article from a few years back.

But it doesn't look like he has it.

Here's mine:

The right front one was 32 inches wide, the others 31 inches.

Kurt's right...

May 15 2012, 8:19 PM

But... The Panzer Art kit is designed for the Tasca kit.

Judicious sanding and some Aves epoxy putty will save you some dough... Though...

True...

May 15 2012, 9:06 PM

First, thanks for the info!
Yes, I could do it myself but I can get the panzer art hull for $12...
I plan on lots of other scratch work, and $12 is worth saving saving a modeling session for something else wink.gif
Thanks for the info guys!

"They were not divided"

May 16 2012, 4:47 AM

A good friend, Nacho Inigo, located last week a british M4A1 small hatch/cast applique in the movie "They were not divided", I think it was real combat footage. Will look for his capture.

There are numerous other pictures showing both high and low bustle turrets. They tend to be more common in British or Canadian livery than US though.
