Re: Were any US used Jeeps modified with wooden sides or tops?

There's a US Ford G.P. with wooden top and doors at Camp Pershing (Iceland) in 1942 pictured in "La Jeep : un défi au temps" book. This book also includes a Free French one with wooden sides and another US one with similar setup in Berlin.

Imagination and materials
June 15 2012, 9:17 AM
I have a DVD showing US Forces in Italy during the winter of 43? In it, there were many different "homemade" tops, doors and other mods made to jeeps to keep the weather out. So apparently it was a matter of imagination and materials on hand to make it work. Wish I knew how to screen shot pics to show how some looked.
A US veteran is someone who, at one point, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including their life.'
