Assuming SP+R are showing samples of all the sprues in the Mk.V kit, you're missing Sprue M from the AVRE kit, which has the AVRE brackets, all the little bolts for the AVRE brackets and the air intakes with the three armour plates.
I think AFV Club included the sprue with the AVRE's spigot mortar in the Mk.V as it has the parts for the ARV cupola on it.
This caught me out on their Valentine kit, it looked like you got all the bits to build a Mk.II in the Mk.I kit - but the etch fret is different, so you can't very easily.
Hi guys
I am out at the moment so can't check the kit but I will usually take an overhead shot of all of the sprues when doing a review, so my guess is that the previous poster was correct regarding a missing sprue.

Just to clarify, I wasn't saying your Mk.V kit is missing anything that it should have, just that if you wanted to build a Mk.IV AVRE out of the Mk.V kit, then AFV Club don't include all the AVRE parts.
my poor use of words - i meant that i (hopefully) take pics of all the sprues in a kit when i review it, so by looking at these people should be able to work out if sprue x or sprue y etc is present, before they buy the kit
AFV Club do the Mk IV AVRE and the Mk III AVRE so I'm not sure why you might want to do this with the Mk V.
If you do then Resicast have the appropriate parts in their conversion kit No 35.1202 and you could most probably use any of the AFV Churchill hulls to achieve what you want.

Mk V into AVRE
June 30 2012, 3:08 PM
Hi all
Indeed, you miss the sprue which holds all those AVRE related bolts. For AFV this conversion could have meant a 2-kits-in-one option, as for the "Why?" because it would give us an Avre with a late style turret?
Since I have both the mk III and mk IV there's No real need......
@ Nicholas: you did a great job with your review, very clear
Cheers

Apparently MkV turrets were overproduced in anticipation of a greater requirement for CS tanks. They were used instead on AVREs.
You can spot a MkV turret AVRE by the apperture for the mantlet. If its square its a late turret if its square-ish with a triangle in the top corner its an earlier turret

Re: 2 sources then, great!

If I could find a third I'd be really happy. I know 2nd hand sources are not ideal, but without access to any of the UK archives corroboration is the next best thing
