Plenty of GMC's on the flightline, but...

...I seriously doubt any ever got the checkerboard paint like jeeps got, except for mobile towers, and those may have been post war. However, I'm not saying that a GMC never got a "Follow Me" sign hung off the back; I'll have to look in my Boniface & Jeudy book.

Follow Me trucks

You might find some 3/4t Dodges used as Follow me trucks, particularly in the Marianas with B-29 groups . I think i have, somewhere , a photo of a Beep being used as a Follow Me in Italy with a B-24 outfit.

Not a deuce and a half, but it's a start. I have one I am doing as a Crew Truck with the 450th in Italy
