Mike - I would be happy if people would start with how to make the kit accurate for what it is supposed to represent, which I believe is a Russian T-55A. Or failing that, a T-54, which is what I really want to make.
Roy - Was that link supposed to include pictures? None came up for me, and that loses a lot of the value.
Jim - Like the Shermans, I think starting off with a "here's what it looked like coming off the line" would be a big help. Once you have that, the changes and mods are much easier.
I have not seen many of these built at shows. I wonder if the fruit salad nature of the kit has put people off? I remember for years that people were crying for a "good" T-55, along with the usual "I'd buy 20 of 'em!" Sad if no one bought any.
I just remembered the series of articles back in MilMod, probably the late '80s, on how to correct the Esci kit. (By Vasko Barbic or Bruce Crosby?) Is the info in that series still good, or has time left it behind as well?
