East German "false flag" armored unit?

I was just reading Zaloga's "Soviet Bloc Elite Forces" (1985) and it mentioned a DDR special forces unit equipped with M48s and M113s in Bundeswehr markings that was to be used for diversionary attacks. Did any info on this unit surface after the reunification?
