Response to M1 Abrams

Howdy Scott, as far as "best" kit I believe that the Dragon offerings are the most accurate. But for that accuracy you get a 'Sierra' load of parts. If you want a quick out of the box build of a Jarhead Abrams get Tamiya kit #35269 M1A1/A2 OIF. It includes the 8 shot M257 SGLs(Smoke Grenade Launcher) that the USMC uses on its fleet of tanks. Another route is the Dragon #3535 M1A1 kit that does not include the 8 shot SGLs. You could 'rat fornicate' the Tamiya kit for the SGLs or source them from PSM or Voyager. You might also post on the Private Sellers page to see if someone has the 8 shot SGLs left over from building the Tamiya kit as a Doggy A1/A2. And depending on which unit and time frame from 2003 to the present you will need the MCD(Missile Countermeasure Device), BRE(Bustle Rack Extension and TI(Tank/Infantry)Phone. There have been lots of Abrams builds published in magazines and posted online the past few years that go into greater detail on the specifics.
Outta here, Mike sends . . .
