Response to No IDF blue -grey vehicles?

The various Soviet-bloc vehicles retained in IDF service were all painted in their standard Sand Gray color. The Tirans did eventually have a stowage basket fitted to the back of the turret, in part to deal with the friendly-fire potential you refer to. The alteration changed the profile of the tank, in theory making it more recognizable to the Israelis themselves.
