Hi guys,
i have just started building the above kit and have a question concerning the colours that this tractor is painted in. In the painting instructions there are two choices of camo scheme for this tractor and i would like to do option B. One of the colours listed for the scheme is Mr Colour "Light blue".
My question is this. Is it actually a light blue or a light grey? in the colour profile it looks more like a light grey than a light blue so i amn a bit confused as to which one it actually is. The second part of my question is what is the nearest Tamiya acrylic colour to either the light blue/light grey?

Colour conversion chart..............
July 3 2009, 3:45 PM
Hi Eth,
I'm not too familiar with Mr Color, and I don't think those paints favour too kindly in paint conversions/charts. Here is 2 links for you that may help:
Not having the kit I don't know, looking at a few pictures it looks more blue than grey toned. Isn't it mainly an air force Asset? They use blues a lot in their paint stocks for aircraft so maybe this is where the scheme comes from? Am sure some of the more knowledgeable guys on here will be able to confirm for you.
Best of luck with it and be sure to give as a look at your build!
Yes it is an airforce asset. It is used for pulling larger Russian aircraft such as the AN22.
This is getting weird now, Three of my friends have seen the pics and said it is a light grey. Bearing that in mind would i be wrong to use the Tamiya Light Grey?

Hi Eth,
I couldn't say for sure as I said, looks more blue to me, but pictures are very difficult to discern accurate colouring due to variations in cameras, lighting, weather etc etc.
Could very easily be light grey, and to be honest you should go with what visually makes you happy, that's the most important thing.
Hopefully one of the experts out there will jump in and nail the answer for you!
yeah i totally agree with you. Unless someone catagorically says it is blue, i am going to go with light grey, at least that will please my girlfriend, and we know how important that is*lol*

What do you take it to mean...........................?
July 3 2009, 8:19 PM
Hi Tim,
It's lightheartedness, some humour, I know nobody took anything out on Eth's post.
It was given in light of mine and other's experiences in the past in here, but in a jovial way not aimed at anyone in particular
Aiming at people in particular is other guy's fortes.
But like my title says, though I'm being humorous (room for that still?) do you take it to mean something else to you Tim?
Yours good naturedly,
Glen
