Modern UK military ski question

I'm not sure whether this is strictly a vehicle query but I want to include some modern skis as stowage on a vehicle so it sort of counts happy.gif.

I'm looking for info on what skis are current issue for UK arctic trained Royal Marines. I have a set of the DML WWII German Mountain Troops and I want to know how close the skis are to modern examples.

Any help much appreciated.

Regards,
John

What time line are you after,
As I was using NATO planks back in the 80s,
The original ones I had were all wood like the ones in the German skiers,
We then changed to plastic ones with the same bindings, Knowing the military purchasing system it would take them at least 15-20 years before changing to the latest proven technology that was back in 86.

forgot to add the run of the mill crosscountry skis are 2in across usaly between 180 to 2m long, military ones are 3 1/2in across 190cm or 210cm long the only choices i had, so cannot state if smaller ones were around.

Frank
