M113

October 11 2013, 6:07 AM

That looks like a T113 rather than a M113 in the background, the front end looks off for a M113, although a new tool M113 series is long over due.

It's a beer pump. The beer is the tasty stuff that comes out the spout...

October 11 2013, 9:56 AM

Hot daym! About time and just when I was bemoaning a lack of 1950's armour.

This'll look pretty sweet next to an M48 and a Duster, doncha think?

Better stock up on 55 gal drums & racks for these bad boys...

I'd be willing to bet....

October 11 2013, 1:18 PM

If you got one of these and the M48A3 kit, you could just swap out parts and make a M103A2 and a M48A1.

More or less, but...

October 11 2013, 4:10 PM

The fenders are different betwen the A1 and the A2 and it's a PITA to get right, too. Scratchbuilt a master 20 years ago and it was a PITA then, too. happy.gif

Still, most of teh theavy lifting is done and that's exactly what I plan to do, as well, but I might use the M60 engine deck instead of an M48A3 deck.

Paul, have you seen the DML M48A3 engine deck?

October 12 2013, 3:02 AM

It's way better than any M60 engine deck out there at this time.

Nope.

October 12 2013, 8:18 PM

I'll be happy to take your word for it that it's much better than any of the M60s available.

Wanna get me one a them M48's, too!

Of course, some people will also use what they have in their stash for such a conversion, so they could use an M60 rear deck if they had one.

Either way, great news, to be sure.

Not like you weren't warned!

October 11 2013, 4:13 PM

You've been warned about something like this haoppening for 15 years, slack-arse. No sympathy at all!

At least my master was finished and I managed to sell it to a resin model company.

October 12 2013, 4:19 AM

lol

you are right the track guards are a PITA, still the back end isnt 48 it's 60 bits on the m103a2 so there should be bits available, of course there are also turret mods...

hope things are well for you mate

October 12 2013, 8:24 PM

How do you know mine wasn't correct as well! Hunh? Hunh?

Wanna step outside?

happy.gif

It really bums me that I spent a couple years making the master and never got a chance to build the model. Mine never got into production. sad.gif

I'll have to see how my A2 hull matches up witrh Dragon's A1 hull and bits. Perhaps I'll just insert the one casting of my master I did manage to get my hands on to make an A2 model.

October 12 2013, 8:54 PM

Paul did your master go to Fort Duquesne? If so I did get the chance to see it about 10 years ago and it was a nice piece of work. Now I need a DML M103A1 thank you very much.

Yep, that was it.

October 13 2013, 2:31 PM

Jim bought it and then, unfortunately, sold the entire business to someone who really only wanted the figure portion of the business. The aircraft and armour stuff never resurfaced. I even tried to buy the master back to resell it (at cost) to anyone who would produce the kit. The new owner never really returned communications so it never came off.

Pity.

I ended up with one copy of each of the major parts and some of the smaller stuff and that was it.

I am in need of a vigorous spanking...

October 11 2013, 5:49 PM

... for giving up on this possibility and selling my copy of Hunnicutt's "Firepower" last decade... d'oh! It's hard to imagine the Great Flying Lizard (GFL) not putting out an M103A2 in the near future. This is super news, for some reason I can't fully explain one of my all-time favourite armour subjects

Very Pleased by this news,
Roy
