Is there a specific place where this is secured on the tank, or is it just placed on the left side as per AFV Club's instructions?

Brad, take a look at photos of my model. I researched the subject as well as I could, so I think my model has the cable correctly attached:

I noticed you painted your pioneer tool wood a light colour. Would they have also been painted in an OD as well?
