I've been brave and used the photo etch, a real pain but looks good once done. Although I slightly battered mine.
Start by getting the central slots lined up and square and glue with thin superglue. Just a tiny amount, I use torn photocopy paper to wick away any excess. Then add the second long horizontal slat that goes into the longer slot in the vertical. This is the end which is not angled. Square and glue. Add the other verticals and then add the final horizontal. This needs to go in last as it's a complete pain because it only has partial slots to go into.
Now for folding the etch box, fold the short sides to the perpendicular then fold the side that needs to go past perpendicular, I did this by hand as the brass is so thin. Fit the slats in, then bend the remaining side in to the perpendicular. I glued the slats in with a couple of drops of thin supper glue which wicked into the joints.
Now you've assembled them decide if you are going to use them, because I found I had to glue them into the side walls in order to dry fit the walls to the lower hull. Unless I did something wrong is essential to dry fit in order to be able to carve away some of the lower hull to allow the etch box to fit.
I also found I had to shorten the height of the triangular side wall supports, I did this by cutting off from the bottom.
I managed to remove the MG mounts with a no 11 scalpel, just!
Dry fit any locating pins as I found several were too large/square for their holes and had to be trimmed.
That's it so far two full days work, I would think another to go.
