Response to Re: *Important* Your opinions wanted!

but as a reviewer/editor for OTW I would prefer to stick to the quality of the kit, not the quality of the company.

Not that business practices are not a very important aspect of our hobby, quite on the contrary, no-one likes his money to be stolen (I've been ripped off a couple of times by other companies) but it's beyond the scope of a kit review, IMHO, as it would lead us down a slippery slope.

E.g. what if a Asian company does not respect the basic rights of its employers, etc. etc, or a British manufacturer uses petroleum products from a company that ruins our environment with huge oil spills, etc. etc.
Should that be part of the review ?
Must the reviewer add the "issue" even if he has only heard it from others ?
And what if the company in question improves its practice after a while ? Should the reviewer update all his reviews to avoid being charged for libel ?

So, please inform as many aspossible about the possible caveats, but not via 'kit' reviews.

My 2c
Cheers
Rob
