Good work on this base. Most of these Matchbox bases are amazingly good, considering the time they were launched first, not to speak they always remind me those better years!
I still have to use some of those particular bases from Monthy's office (have at least 3 of them from memory) so I can't post pictures but have here my comments instead
Good base in general, has what I call for myself "the spirit". What I don't like definitely is the tram tracks. The straight one is OK, in scale it fits almost spot-on into the standard European railway track of 1435 mm which was also common for most tram tracks, as you know. But the turnout (or switch, if you prefer so) is too bad. I have the funny feeling one person started the work on this base master and other one finished it in a hurry to fit some deadline. The turnout angle is too sharp and not realistic, also the curved part of the track starts from 19 mm in the turnout to reach the unbelievable 25 mm at the base edge!
I see two options here: 1. To cover the whole offending part with debris or some vehicle(s); 2. (harder) To delete the turnout and the curved track only, as I said the straigh track is OK.
