Response to Braille Scale Group Build - 2012 'Medical Services' - Week 11

Hello

I'm still "massaging" the roof of the Horch.

The roof has been improved, - by fractions of millimetres, So no actual progress to show, though its been worth it as it should now photograph well when blown up to "1/25th scale" via the macro lens, whereas left as was it looked alright in 1/72 scale, but magnified up, uneven roof edges were apparent.

Of course I could avoid extra work by always taking photos so models appear in 1/72 scale in the forum pictures wink.gif

Just a little more sanding and that last spray paint, then it can be affixed to the body.

Then it just remains to fix the roof (has been test fit 100 times already) check joins with roof and body, add a windscreen and wipers, decals, and a small amount of touch up and weathering.

And Ilian's suggestion are worthwhile, to remove the front Dragon tow hooks and notek light and replace both, as the tow hooks in particular are poorly cast, way too thick and heavy.

I estimate 2 more weeks, 3 at most & should be finished or very close to it.

Not a chance of me starting a 3rd build for this Group Build, even if I had suitable kit in hand. I will be chasing up a kit of Profiline's Steyr 1500 Ambulance in the future, if one was for sale closer than 12,000 km away I would have like to have got one for the Group Build, parcels and letters take up to 8 weeks to get here from Europe, even those sent by 'air mail' wink.gif

cheers
Neil
