M3 Halftracks

I am working on some US M3 halftracks, from various bits and pieces.

From what I have read, some of the distinguishing features of later models were phased in and also retrofitted to earlier vehicles. So I am wondering if anyone can see anything wrong with combining the following features on a vehicle:

"Early" features:
No MG pulpit (ie not M3A1)
Fixed headlamps
No drop-down stowage racks on rear

"Later" features:
Jerry cans both sides of hood
Mine racks

Its probably the mine racks I am debating most.

TIA for any help with this....
