They are the PE platforms, I just have given them a third dimension and pinched one from the opposite side of the turret for the front cabin, I have seen some photos where one of the turret platforms is missing. That and once in the display cabinet you will only see one side anyway😀
The railings on top of the turret are hinged to be raise or lowered, however the kit railings are too tall and cross over each other if laid flat, so I cut them down in size and put the supports in that they rest on,. I have never seen where the second pair of plates go, so you could be correct, all wheels are the Tankograd wheels they are the same as on the MAZ only the hubs are different, the Tankograd wheels give you both types of hub as separate items so the same wheel fits both kits.
