Question on camo

June 6 2006, 7:12 AM

did you paint the red first and mask it and then green and mask it and then the dark yellow overall or the other way around. Very nice however you did it.

Paint order

June 6 2006, 7:49 AM

Hi Mike
This time I went yellow, brown then green, the green had to go last as it has one edge that is feathered, the brown is all hard edge all round, in the past I always left the base yellow until last but I have found you have to put a lot of paint on to cover the dark paint. So I tryied it this way, draw back is it took loads of masking

Figures

June 6 2006, 10:52 AM

Hi Danl,
I have not found time yet to learn how to paint figures, I cannot stop buying kits I want to build, a few years ago there was nothing new in 1:76 or 1:72, the market has exploded and I have still have a number of UM 38t to build, I have to finish the Marder M I have, I also have the the Grille M and a LT38 waiting to start and I am also working on a Dragon Panther and a scratch built runined building, which is totally off subject for me, I saw it in 1:35 on the net and it took my fancy so I though I would have a go at making it.

good work

June 6 2006, 6:58 PM

it reminds me of the building in private Ryan where the SS guy passes Apum on the stairs, where did you get the brick work from? I have just started to get an interest in scratching buildings, mine aren't as good as yours though here is my best effort, it made from architect paper and cardboard

Buildings

June 7 2006, 3:34 AM

The walls have a 15 thou core with embossed plastic card glued to each side, I got the brick pattern a few years back at my local hobby shop, over this is a 5 thou sheet that will become the plaster work, I have still to buy wood to build the top floor and the roof rafters.
