Following of my "Butcher and Bolt Legend" project, a car that probably belonged to Paddy Mayne according to legend.

This is the last shoot before paint !

Accessories

August 4 2017, 10:01 AM

Salut Arnaud
That looks really fabulous - loads of character and interest. It rather suits the 'Boys Own' nature of the Milne story. I've made a start to the accompanying Jack Russell - just a rough hack-out in plastic at eh minute. Here it is:

All the best

No photo of real car. It's a legend !

The car would have been won at poker by Paddy Mayne or one of his friends and used in SAS vehicle. But no historical information was found on it. The vehicle was already made 1/35 by a talented maker and another version was made in 28mm. Otherwise, there is also this BD that could be at the origin of this legend :

Other information also speaks of another historical figure that could have used this Bentley: Vladimir Peniakoff in his Private Army on LRDG Troop.

Read the beginning of my project on my blog http://scale72world.blogspot.fr/2017/06/butcher-bolt-legend-part-1.html

Thanks

Beautifully done!

August 4 2017, 12:05 PM

Hi there Arnaud,

You've done a great job with this build. I really like how it looks. Your build is very inspiring and I am keen on SAS vehicles. I hope you don't mind that I might embark on a project just like yours. As the saying goes, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". Don't know when, but when I do get started, I will definitely put a special salute/note to your build.

Thanks,

Joseph

Thanks for your comment.
No problem for "copy" because it's exactly what i've done with the Masaya Saito's 1/35 model.
Just, tell me when you will start your project.

Very creative and artistic, just one thing

You should add a second sand channel, as one usually does not help much.

Nice!

Really nice and inspiring job! Still, some details may call for a review, e.g. disconnected rims of the headlights...

That's exactly what I said to myself when I looked at the details and i've tried to correct the problem.

If someone have anything to say before paint, it's time !

Thanks

Amazing Work!

August 5 2017, 9:31 AM

Outstanding job on this little gem. The detail is amazing!! What was the base vehicle you used? Is that a diecast model that you converted?

One thing......the RH rear tire doesn't appear to be seated properly on the wheel rim. If it's a diecast, I'm guessing it's a rubber tire.

Amazing amount of work...

August 5 2017, 4:04 AM

Hello Arnaud,

I think you have crammed about as much as you can on the vehicle, it looks amazing, well done. The twin Vickers K guns, where did you source them from, they look very nice. I am really looking forward to seeing it painted up, it will be a little cracker.

All the best,

Paul

Many thanks Paul.

I must admit that painting frightens me! I hope it will not spoil all the work.
