Response to RE:Celebrity Modelers????????

...co-screenwriter of "Apocalypse Now," director of "Wind & The Lion," etc.

The LA TIMES interviewed him some years ago and a photo with the article showed Milius holding a model he was working on: a...EEEEK! TAMIYA 1/32 scale Phantom aircraft. But I think he also builds military stuff.

Incidentally, his 1:1 models got Milius into trouble once. The fake Russian vehicles for "Red Dawn" looked realistic enough that someone called the FBI when they saw the vehicles being readied for transport from Los Angeles to the film location.

Science-fiction writer Harlan Ellison was famous for having a room full of unbuilt models, but I don't know if he actually ever tackled any with glue and paint.
