Response to Al, really, give it up man.

Gino,

I have been watching this and other comments for a while without making remarks, however I think telling Al to forget it is asking him to dismiss an important human trait - morality.

Do you remember the uproar on here at various times when Tamiya would rerelease a dog ahead of the latest DML wonderkit?

Many was the cry of unethical behaviour.

Yet here we have a company, possibly the premier plastic model company at present routinely engaing in behaviour designed to affect the financial viability of its competitors and quite possibly underpricing kits to acheive this goal. As has been pointed out many times the quality of their first release kits has become smething of a joke because they try to beat a competitor to the punch.

Not only that, they appear to have a record for employees posting on sites (such as the blog mentioned) dispariging both rival companies and anyone who has the temerity to give them less than fullsome praise in a review.

In my job I have to sign a commitment to ethical conduct each year and that and my discomfort at these practices is starting to bug me.

Of course I realise no one here will let morality or ethics interfere with the chance to get the silver they covet.

What they are doing is morally wrong and for me at least my morality and standards are starting to affect my judgement on this company, and my purchasing habits.

I would suggest that instead of laughing it off if more people said and did the same then you might see a change.

Craig Warton
