As already suggested the Ikea route with daylight bulbs is a good one. These are the lights I purchased and give me more than enough light.

Two of those and then get two daylight energy savers. The Ikea lamp is rated for 60 watts but that's for the old style traditional bulb which of course means the shade would get too hot with a higher rating.

They are rated at 30 watts which is equivalent to 125 - 150 watts incandescent light.
