I find this to be a bunch of ****...the biggest part of the Asian market is Gundam models. Have you ever seen what Bandani does with these kits? Its downright amazing and even puts Tamiya to shame...multicolored sprue runners, snap together fit all with great detail. I'd say the complexity level of them is around what a modern Tamiya kit is for assembling them.
I think the issue at hand here is that the manufactures are having pissing matches on who can do the most complex molds with their kits. The Bronco Chaffee is a good kit, but it WAY over engineered, not in a good way, but yet they do something like the Chinese APC series that has good detail and not too many parts. I shuddering at the thought if there Zyrini kit is like the Chaffee..its going to take 2-3 months just to finish it.
As for people complaining about complexity of kits, many of these same people do work to more basic kits that make it even harder to complete that kit (scratchbuilt interiors etc) then the complex kits!
