No offense Ken, but your theory sounds a bit far fetched...

Response to Tasca Prices

For anyone to think that the brick and mortar hobby shop is where the future of the hobby lies is a bit out of touch. I travel extensively and have the opportunity to visit hobby shops all over the country. When I get to a city and do an internet or phone book search at least one or two (if there even are any) of the shops listed are no longer in business.

And out of probably 15 shops visited in the last year, you know how many had a Tasca kit on the shelf? Exactly one. So the altruistic idea of setting the price and providing the kit to a retailer "so modelers can inspect the kit before buying it" doesn't really hold any water either.

And yes, set retail prices may be the wave of the future, but I don't think the theory will work well in the hobby industry.
