Hi everyone I trust that you are well.
Well, I never thought that this day would come, but after meetings at Traplet, I am now able to announce that I am now working my notice and will be leaving my position as the Editor of Military In Scale, later this year.
As you can imagine this has been a very difficult decision to make. I've worked for Traplet for almost twenty years now, being the full-time Editor of Military In Scale since June of 1996 (that's a lot of models and a huge number of magazines under my belt!) and so deciding to move on to pastures new has been a emotional ride. The time though is right; last year my family was devastated by illness and the loss of a son just before Christmas and that has forged a desire to re-evaluate what is important and find the time to care for those closest to me. As you can imagine, working at a job that involves you being creative and enthusiastic every day can be very difficult under those circumstances and I have found that I have been less and less driven to build models to the standards that I expect of myself and so with that in mind, a desire to face a new challenge and not see MIS suffer as a result, I have decided to hand in my notice and move on.
As I am now working my notice, the December 2012 Edition will be the last under my stewardship allowing me to leave mid October. This will allow me to clear up any loose ends and find a successor which is something that I am taking very seriously. As a result of this, I would ask anyone who is interested in taking on the challenge of Editing MIS to contact me and I will pass your details on to the management at Traplet Publications.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone who has worked with me over the last twenty years; the authors, the manufacturers and anyone else who has helped make this such a wonderful job. I thank you all - I am more grateful than you will ever know.
Thanks for reading this and hopefully I see you again soon.
