Paint schemes, who's who?

I just purchased Trumpeter's 48N5E of 5P85S TEL S-300PMU SA-10 Grumble. Decals are provided for eight paint schemes. None of these schemes have a caption to indicate who the user is or when it is being used. I have noticed many other kits lately do the same, no "who's who". One of the markings shown are for Ukrainian service and another for Russian parade, those are the only two I can work out. Am I the only one who finds this to be a bit of a problem? The internet is usually of some assistance but not always. I do not consider this to be a major stumbling block, just a small annoyance.
Your thoughts?-
