new Waldschlepper kit

I just wanted to post these thoughts on the new JP Hobby Waldschlepper kit out now. I had seen photos of the kit but only the same 3/4 front view, so I bought one as I really enjoy the RSO family. For those who want the totally accurate vehicle, it isn't. According to my photos, it has a few major shortcomings. Missing mostly is the shortened rear bed and winch assembly at the rear. Small details in the running gear aren't correct and it appears the engine cover and exhaust are for a V-8 version. A set of aftermarket tracks would help. They were 4 cylinder engines in these.

To give the kit positive marks , the casting is generaly very clean and has crisp detailing in most places. The front wheels and road wheels are depicted nicely. The interior is very close except for the aforementioned engine cover. What it is is currently the best offering I know of out there. If somebody wants a close representation of the truck-buy it. It will look good on the shelf with the other RSO's. If somebody wants to do a little extra detailing , it would help it if that is the level one wants to take it to.

I am not trying to hurt sales on this, but merely satisfy some curious minds, like mine, from the poor photo options I have found of this model so far. The service was good and it was easy to purchase from JP.
