Look like G41 Semi Automatic Rifles

Response to New DMLs, Gebrigs(Heer) in Italy.

It's a bit hard to tell from the box top illustration, but the rifles look like G41 semi-automatic rifles to me. The bolt handles do look to be in the wrong place, though.

They were a singularly unpopular weapon, hard to maintain and complicated to produce. The muzzle mounted gas trap system was unbalanced and difficult to dissasemble and clean in the field. Interestingly enough, the original design of the M1 Garand used a similar (but much smaller) type of gas trap device, but after only a few thousand, the US switched to the much better gas port system.

German weapon designers, however, were horrified at the thought of drilling holes in the bore of their small arms and persisted experimenting with the gas trap and recoil operating systems long after other designs proved their worth.
